StudyMonk is designed to run locally in your browser.
Data Stored Locally
The extension stores these settings in Chrome local storage:
- Study mode on/off state
- Blocked website list
- Allowed YouTube channel list
- Study keyword and study pack preferences
- YouTube filtering preferences, such as hiding Shorts, filtering feeds, and watch page recommendations mode
Data Collection
StudyMonk does not collect, sell, share, or transmit personal data.
The extension does not send your browsing history, YouTube history, blocked site list, channel list, keywords, study packs, or settings to any external server.
YouTube Filtering
When study mode is enabled, the extension reads visible YouTube page text in the browser to hide Shorts, recommendations, or non-study video cards according to your settings. This processing happens locally in the browser.
Third Parties
StudyMonk does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, remote AI services, or third-party tracking services.
